How much Microsoft pays

One of my cousin visited us over the weekend 

he is in his 40 recently got into Microsoft 

his wife keeps talking about money 

40 k for private school is nothing for them 

1.5 million dollar house recently 

I am shocked with their life style change

For senior software engs, TC could be from 250k-500k depending on when they joined and other factors.

for mgrs 400k-600k..  for sr mgrs, 500k-800k.

 

all this is in bay area and very limited data points. So may not be accurate

 

 

in btn, 1.5m home is very common in bayarea & seatle

principal sw engineer: 350-700k

buying a million $ home is nothing as their stocks vested from last few years itself could be in millions.

that’s how the life is if you work in any faang or good company as an engineer.

and they totally deserve this. Hardwork repays

I do not think so. People with casteist mind set usually will not grow to FAMANG level. I am not saying being casteist is any crime but usually those who are into this kind of things will not have their IQ improved to the level that is needed for any challenging job.

But earning money is a different ball game, you can have many mediators/job brokers/agencies who can make multiple times to what a brilliant Engineer at Microsoft makes in an year.

Probably our Psyco thaatha falls into second category -

Everyone is buying because they do not want to be lost in this race to own a house. As the time goes, one fear they will never be able to own the house.
