Those numbers are not non-realistic. One of my close friend started his career as a developer in Infosys in the year 2014 @3.5LPA. He changed a couple of companies over the years and now earning around 2.6lakhs per month after taxes, also founded a startup but it has not taken off yet.

Assuming they have no house loan or car loan to worry about ... they need to make around 6 lakhs per month together if we take 30% tax and about 50k worth of expenses ... I see no reason a couple who are working for top paying companies in senior role cannot make this happen 

I know some companies that pay more than  that for a single job in director roles in India.... if you have talent the salaries have become very high in India
