By cbn's logic opposition lo unna chiranjeevi damaged opposition prospects 

By the same logic pk damaged ycp's 2019 prospects not TDP.   Pk was attacking ycp more than ruling TDP , he didn't even bring up TDP corruption

Congress couldn't get much in terms of seats at central level although they got most votes polled overall and in AP they won more seats in 1998 but in 1999 BJP & TDP teamed up who were seperate in 1998.

 

1999 had assembly elections too and TDP was in good form with CBN having made up for NTR saga with some sort of new way of governance and was bound to win so its win-win for both its more advantage for BJP being with TDP than the other side..

If you see from 1998 to 1999 BJP got same number of seats overall at all India level.

In 2003 all India level anti-incumbancy played part for BJP (NDA) & TDP too faced raithula issues and face lift of YSR..

What changed drastically for tdp to get 29 seats in 99?  ruling party advantage unnaka kooda 12 seats.. point to be noted.. tdp appati varaku bjp ki dooram undi. Ntr chaala sarlu cheppadu congi & bjp ki memu dooram ani. And cbn changed stand overnight.
even 1% increase in vote share can make a diff of 20-30 seats.
