Signed contract for new build. Delivery is June 2022. Should I do a 180 day lock now? One of the lender is saying that they add .375 % to the current interest rate to lock for 180 days.

Find a home.... While signing the contract to build a house.., you just need get a Pre approval .... Which anyone will do... its easy.. 5 min work..

After that... You can go with the builder recommended bank or

Later while closing if you don't like...you can find other bank of your choice...

first loan disclosure process complete ayyi illu construction start aythe we can shop for different lenders.

I will tell you my story ...

October 2021 signed to build a new house...

Once you sign they will give 30 days to get Pre approval - It will just take 1-2 days if you go with any bank...Get Pre-Approval..

Now... Selected the structure and interior design and Signed just a couple of days ago...200.gif

Now I have 2 options...

First, can go with the builder recommended Bank .. usually they recommend local banks and they will have No closing cost.. as its a deal between the bank and builders..

Second, choice of any other bank
