Accepted FTE 3 months back and investing 2k per month into 401k Roth including employer contribution 

how to allocate assets for maximum gain ?? Currently I am down by 2 percent

Why Roth 401k? We tend to overestimate the income we draw per year in retirement.

just contribute to the full pretax 401k limit and get your tax break now.

if you want to contribute additional amt beyond the 20k annual pretax limit into 401k, then if your employer allows it, put in after-tax 401k with automatic roth conversion.

As for funds, just put into some S&P index fund and forget. 

IMO it’s better to invest time to switch to a higher earning job than investing time on which stocks to pick and worry abt them.

Either pretax or Roth 401k employee side contributions can be up to 20500$ for 2022.

since BBB didn’t pass yet, the after tax contributions can still happen this year. so beyond the 20500$ you can put into after tax 401k until total reaches 61000$
