Terrified Netflix fans 'can't sleep at night' after watching new horror series

Freaked out Netflix fans took to Twitter to warn others not to watch the new horror series Archive 81 at night by themselves as it's been giving them nightmares

Netflix fans have claimed that the new horror series Archive 81 is so scary they're struggling to go to sleep.

Since the series dropped on the streaming service on January 14, it has quickly become this year's must-watch horror, with fans saying it's so creepy they're getting nightmares from it.

According to Netflix, the creepy eight-episode show is a combination of The Blair Witch Project, Midsommar and Frequency, and is created by producers who have worked on shows such as The Vampire Diaries and Stranger Things - so tune in at your own risk.

Archive 81 follows archivist Dan Turner (Mamoudou Athie), who takes a job restoring a collection of damaged videotapes from 1994.

He's reconstructing the work of documentary filmmaker Melody Pendras (Dina Shihabi) who investigated a dangerous cult at the Visser apartment building.

As the season unfolds across these two timelines, Dan slowly finds himself obsessed with uncovering what happened to Melody and the building's residents.

When the two characters form a mysterious connection, Dan becomes convinced he can save her from the terrifying end she met 25 years ago.

The official synopsis says: "An original story loosely inspired by the popular podcast of the same name, Archive 81 is a supernatural thriller series executive produced by showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine (The Boys, The Vampire Diaries), James Wan and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster (The Conjuring Universe film franchise and Malignant), Rebecca Thomas (Stranger Things, Limetown), Antoine Douaihy (Panic, The Good Cop) and Paul Harris Boardman (Deliver Us from Evil)."

Even Netflix agrees, having referred to the new show on social media as 'a terrifying new series executive produced by James Wan that you won’t want to watch at night'.

Ninna choosamu 1st episode, even my wife felt very unnerved and said it was really creepy. Plus memundedi pedda intlo with a huge backyard that goes into the forest behind, no other houses around the closest house is 5 houses away.

So adds to the feel, of course I love it
