Hindus are guided by Hindu Succession Act 1956. Deeniki base "Thatha sothu manavadiki sontham" ane concept mida ie act implement ayindi...and lot of these things are tied to the "surname". 

How the ancestral property acquired anedani mida chala depend ayi vuntadi...second, the financial wellbeing of the family members....

Father does not want to give a share in ancestral property and has will, daughter can challenge the will on various grounds saying will was drafted in a different situation or some of the terms were not fullfilled or daughter can claim that financial position has weekended and it's a question of survival...antho intho vasool cheyochu.

Most people think that a will is the final act and supersedes everything...it's partly true but at the same time the same will can be challenged on many grounds.
