We don’t have that culture of calling “Maaji” in Telugu states… in North, they have to call them that way even though they hate each other.. 😁

I think the problem arises when people try to over impress each other and try to gain acceptance when they are getting into a new relationship..  marriage ayina kothhaloo over respect, over action baga chestharu… but they cannot continue acting forever and that is when misunderstandings start… the same applies for husband and wife also..

I have seen in India when people join a new job, they go over the board to impress their boss.. 🤦‍♂️ May be it is a cultural thing..
