My nephew had acne since he started eating solids did multiple test no results once pediatric recommended tests.. some one from lab visited house and took samples of all foods in the kitchen and guess what turmeric which they got from village was the culprit… turned out it had very high amount of lead and other pesticides nephew suffered a lot for 1 year…

Did they buy Turmeric powder or the bulbs ?  Because lead poisoning of soil is not possible outside of industrial areas 

A lot of food adulteration happens in the post harvesting stage like the color mentioned in the article 

Same issue is also present with chilli powder by adding red color ,  jaggery has white color  added,  even ghee has chemicals added for clear look

They got it from village near ananthapur…  meaning village produce

Buy chillies and grind it in india 

I don't any branded product because they add red dye . By nature its impossible to keep the bright reddish colour for a long time but many packaged powders do

Two families in the article bought turmeric bulbs in India, dried, made powder, and bought it to USA

It’s possible to keep bright red color if you store it in air tight pack and freeze it
