Airports are worthless waste of money if the population cannot afford it.  Except vizag all Andhra airports are running in crores of losses 

Fishing Harbours will generate a lot of jobs , lakhs of  Andhra people work in  kerala , Gujarat, tamil nadu fishing harbours. 

You remember when first Lockdown  happened so many Andhra labour stuck in these 3 states ? 

But if they are controlled by state govt , then it will also be completely worthless

Main reason is Hyderabad airport so close to vijaywada , they all go to shamshabad anyway. Also all the rich people around Vijaywada stay in Hyderabad 

But in future the migration will stop and vijaywada will become a busy airport 

But I don't see kurnool , Kadapa or even proposed Nellore airport becoming viable in two or three decades . They will need lot of state subsidies to run

do tier 2 cities in India even need an airport?

flying to a location 350km away seems like a waste of time, since trip to the airport itself takes an hr back and forth.

India can focus on railways.. cheaper and  greener way of transporting much higher numbers.
