Government would create 5 crore jobs in country by 2022: Bandaru Dattatreya

Speaking at the inauguration of a job 'mela' (fair) here, he said similar fairs would be conducted in Telangana soon.

HYDERABAD: The government would create five crore jobs in the country by 2022, Union Labour Minister Bandaru Dattatreya said here today. 

Speaking at the inauguration of a job 'mela' (fair) here, he said similar fairs would be conducted in Telangana soon. 

The Centre gave Rs 170 crore for skill development centres in the state, the minister said. 

"As the Centre is giving importance to skill development, the state government should also provide skill development for the youth for better employment opportunities," Dattatreya said. 

Nearly 10,000 people attended the job fair, where around 60 companies participated and offered jobs to 1000 persons in various sectors, stated an official release.

I hope he knows 2022 is already here and we are already one month down ... typically india has created around 5 million jobs a year in tha last 10 years ... now he is talking about creating 10x of that in a year another lofty promise with a high probability of failure
