KCR to sign deal with Prashant Kishor shortly

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is likely to sign an agreement with popular political strategist Prashant Kishor sometime this month to work out the strategies for the party in the next assembly elections.

According to sources, KCR has taken the decision following intelligence reports that the TRS is going to lose heavily in the next elections, unless he brings in some major changes in his style of functioning and works out new strategies for the party.

For the last couple of months, one of the senior team members of Prashant Kishor’s Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC) has been working for the TRS but in a secret manner.

This I-PAC along with his associates have been doing field-level studies on the prospects of the party and the impact of the government schemes on the people. This gentleman is learnt to have given the feedback to KCR stating that all is not well with the party at the grassroots level.

Based on the advice, KCR has reportedly decided to have a full-time strategist for the party in the next elections. Accordingly, he decided to sign a two-year agreement with Prashant Kishor, who would swing into action, soon after the elections to the five states.

Prashant would primarily concentrate on weakening the opposition by launching a psychological attack on them. He would also identify the constituencies where the Congress and the BJP are strong and make an attempt on weakening them.

“The focus on Prashant Kishor is on converting the weakness of the opposition into the strength for the TRS. The same tactics he had used in West Bengal, Bihar and Tamil Nadu in the past,” sources said.
