List shows unemployment rate lowest in Telangana

Independent think-tank Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy has released a list showing unemployment rate in Indian states in January 2022.

India's unemployment rate witnessed a sharp decline to 6.57 per cent in January, the lowest since March 2021, as the country gradually recovers with easing of restrictions following a decline in Omicron cases, according to CMIE.

Haryana has the highest unemployment rate at 23.4%, followed by Rajasthan (18.9%) and Tripura (17.1%).

Telangana reported the lowest unemployment rate at 0.7% in January this year, followed by Gujarat (1.2%), Meghalaya (1.5%) and Odisha (1.8%).

Andhra Pradesh reported the unemployment rate at 6.2% in January this year.
