So sad. Looks like there were some fatalities 🥲

Apparently no fatalities yet. 27 injured , some heavily .

I know tamil nadu , Andhra has some old buses running around but none this old sFun_duh2

Look at those taxis , can't find them anywhere else.  Damage done by 30 years of communism can't be fixed so easily

It’s not a govt bus but a private mini bus … bengal economy worsened during mamata, nothing to do with communism … the similar type of padmini taxis you will find in mumbai too (used to travel 5 yrs back) … even Maharashtra buses are like that very old

Believe it or not mamata banerjee led bengal is one of the better performing economies in india.  Far better than UP who is touted as an economic miracle in media these days

GDP Growth per capita under current prices

(Starting from 2017-18)
CAGR growth for 4 years - West Bengal - 7.3%
CAGR growth for 4 years - Uttar Pradesh - 3.6%

Winner:  mamata

GDP Growth under current prices

CAGR growth for 4 years - West Bengal - 10.5%
CAGR growth for 4 years - Uttar Pradesh - 7.3%

Winner: mamata

State debt of Bengal has more or less remained 40% of GSDP from communist times , so she has maintained debt levels just as before

Why what happened to the Taxis Ambassador were in production till 2014 and they are considered to be best Taxis.. Mumbai too had Premier Padmini car taxi (kaali peeli) as they say but in last decade they have been phased with a rule that older than 20 have to go off road...

Been to Kolkatta few times found the Ambassdors to be in good condition once they are off life they will be taken off the road..

In Mumbai they have been taken off road, this rule was passed around 2008-09 so gradually disappeared. Very very rarely you can see one now.

Everything is verifiable on the RBI website

https://m.rbi.org.in/Scripts/PublicationsView.aspx?id=20675

 https://m.rbi.org.in/Scripts/PublicationsView.aspx?id=20677

Base year: 2011-12

I am not comparing absolute numbers , it's just percentage growth figures.

UP being a poor state should have it easier to grow faster than bengal due to low base effect. Just like how india grows faster than USA
