inflation in US could not be contained, these guys have been printing like hell

things in India are different, any measures to contain inflation restricts growth, business need growth coming out of CV economic impact, India did not print like hell so it will be contained soon by itself

ra ra bhakth… mari adhe explain cheyochu kada accountability lekunda 70yrs back PM pai why crying ?

so basically you have no idea what you are talking about.

china printed like hell. and 'suffered' inflation of less than 2% until last year. and also grew their economy like crazy in that period.

I felt india had a higher inflation in the last 1.5 decades compared to some of the developed countries. Agreed?

because of lack of investment in institutions like market access and rule of law, and also lack of targeted investments in infrastructure to ease movement of goods. If you open an economy the way PVNR did in 91, its obvious you'll have to contend with high inflation. That's why PVNR is the most overrated PM ever.

things are getting better on that front though. But the demand collapsed in India after Modi came to power. That's why India didn't have inflation until covid. The current inflation has mostly to do with supply problems in international trade.

I agree with lack of infrastructure investment but lot has happened on that front in the last few years with the expansion of highways... what PVNR did was something that would have eventually happened in India by some or the other PM especially at that time when globalization was catching up.. he just became the spotlight for doing this and I feel that it needs to be attributed to Manmohan Singh more than PVNR for that event

The demand collapse in India was just a temporary phase as it is evident that we are becoming an increasingly consumerist society which was not the case a couple of decades ago ... this is also happening globally and one of the primary reasons for increased supply chain problems apart from the challenges that COVID presented

Its not temporary for India. some of it is structural - like lower spending for social schemes. Some of it because of the dumbfcuk PM who did the great masterstroke 'demonetization'. India still hasn't recovered from it. Even after NDA govt did increase spending on MNREGA after 2016 to compensate for the much higher demand for such jobs in rural areas.

I'd say 2016 Modi's stupid stunt broke India's back. 2022 budget again, huge slashes in social spending. Demand will continue to be driven purely by computer wizzes and other aspects of political economy. Rural economy is done and dusted in India.

Kept on increasing interest rates ,so keep inflation low ,damaged a lot due to Raghuram rajan tenure as RBI governor lol.

Keep taxes low ,decrease interest rates ,let there be inflation ,but not like this....Demand shortage is prime reason for present inflation in india ,bodi should hire good advisors, instead of dumb foreign educated economists who works on a agenda
