Sunroom contractor issue

Sunroom extension chepiddam ani project start chesa contractor gadu half work chesi 60% money teeskoni ippudu reply istaledu edo oka reason cheptunnadu work ki rakapovadaniki. Its already been a month. How to handle this situation?  Tellodu. He wrote a contract.

Work will be done in 45 days ani undi… extra time ki oka clause undi

 

16. EXTRA TIME: Contractor agrees to diligently pursue work through to completion, but shall not be responsible for delays for any of the following reasons: acts of neglect or omissions of Owner or Owner's employees or Owner's agent, acts of God, stormy or inclement weather, strikes, lockouts, boycotts or other labor union activities, extra work ordered by Owner, acts of public enemy, riots or civil commotion, inability to secure materials through regular recognized channels, imposition of government priority or allocation of materials, failure of Owner to make payments

you need to weigh the expenses… send him a notice first. You may end up with some settlement.

it will be more expensive than what you are loosing now. It seems you lost 10%, estimating rough ga oka 1000 or 2000 loss ayyava, Legal expenses will be much higher than that.

Wait for few more days (15 more days).. and hire a new contractor… waste of time to pursue this guy.. these workers are in huge demand now.. so we are at their merc

good that you didn’t pay him in full.. few of my friends paid most of the amount and they left the work in the middle and never turned up… 

few months ago, I hired a contractor to replace the backsplash.. he came in with  another guy and demolished some of the backsplash, asked me to bring sheet rock from Lowe’s, and by the time I came back, they are gone.. luckily I didn’t pay him anything but I had to clean up the trash and live with the demolished backsplash for a couple of weeks before I found another contractor..
