how does operating bullet trains, and making trips to space count as innovation? It just means that China is investing a lot in potential technologies of the future. nothing more than that. Some day they will cross over to become more innovative. That's not now.

most path breaking innovations that power the economy have been done in the US in the last century, and before that UK and Europe. I see applied tech journals, and a lot of pathbreaking work is done either in the west or Japan.

China excels at design innovation perhaps. Not there yet.

bullet trains and space expolaration is what then? what is this "innovation" "innovation" you keep on parroting ?it seems like another magical thing which is whatever you basically define it to be.

I mentioned bullet trains and space exploration not in terms of innovation but efficiency of their state owned enterprises. They build stuff on time and on budget and run them well - that is effecient in anyone's book - other than narsi.

may be you suck at English language in general. I was offering a corollary to my assertion that the most important job of a govt is to create and protect markets, and interfere to create and improve demand when it sags.

sandrabob, actually, is not in a position to do any of the above, but his fans think he is. That's why I brought him in.

investment in infrastructure. anthey. efficiency is not innovation.

innovation that move an economy is done in the applied tech areas. Japanese have innovated in semiconductor masking technologies.. literally corner 90% of the market in that sector.

pls name a single innovation that China has done. I'm not saying they won't do so in the future. that's you trying to put words in my mouth, coz you are too dumb to deal with what I actually say.

I already said i mentioned them  as efficient. You may have forgotten but just one page away you were bluffing that chinese state owned enterprises as "inefficient".

And also without innovation there is no possibility of china catching up in almost every technology when all of it was denied to them. THere is no magic about innovation.

You can't become an innovator without reaching certain economic mass

Even Europe is learning hard lessons about American superiority in this regard last 3 decades

Coming to china  , they are leading innovators in 5G tech , civilian drones and certain battery tech

Miniscule,  but we are talking about a country that couldn't even make cycles properly 30 years ago

Exactly - the starting point also matters. How can it not innovative in bringing up a backward economy to ultra modern one in 30 years ? how many decisions they must have taken/how many modifications/how many corrections - are they not innovation? eee narsi gaadu assal life lo okka pani chesado ledho.

what is 5G tech, pls tell.

civilian drones hmmm... do you mean on the AI recognition software? what exactly is their advantage in that market beyond mass manufacturing capability?

we can call China an innovator when they become one, then. Not now.
