same question naaku vachindi. ento konta vuntadi akda max outof pocket?

mari 27.5K ayite vundadu.

out of pocket limit aipoyaka kuda insurance covers 80% or less depends on our monthly payment kada.

Bill 1000's lo osthe even 20% becomes huge. Out of network aithe insurance wouldn't cover that 80% too

What are the possibilities if we are not willing to pay medical bills coming to us ? I know they will sent out to collections department . What would happen if we keep ignoring them too? Please give your insights on this! Thank you friends

depends on your situation bro.. if you are planning to move to India in the next few years, you can ignore.. otherwise, better to pay or negotiate with hospital

A colleague of mine had a large bill due to his mother having a heart attack. He approached one of Bill Gates’s charities and they paid it.

So my advice is to try the well known charities too for help.

Not sure if the charities work when the bill already went to collections. You might have to involve them when then bill is still with the hospital.

I also had same scenario in 2020, lots of hospital bills, so i spoke accounts team and told i will pay in short amounts of 250/month and they agreed to it, they requested i setup a automatic payment plan and i did that.

So every month i pay 250 and i am doing that from past 2 years and based on the bills that are being accumulated(for after visit and labs) it looks like i have to run the payment plan for next 10-15 years.

Sad bro, hope you get some good billing in your future projects to pay it off soon and see urself in brighter side

Generally if you reach outofpocket max insurance will pay literally everything. That’s what outofpocketmax word means

Good luck bro, try financial assistance application, in that they will contact alla charities and federal funded charities too, if that didn’t help, try the bill gates foundation as someone mentioned here

Always check in network and outofpocketmax amount and if you check those two you are fine. Also, call your insurance to send you the list of all in network urgent care, emergency, dental and specialist providers in ur area. They will provide you the list. Normally if you take aetna cigna or bcbs they will cover almost 90 percent of hospitals , so prefer their insurance
