Gandhi is the name that is uniting and keeping Congress intact. Priyanka is now a useless Gandhi, but Rahul needs to take up the top job of the party or else it will be split into various splinter parties. 

Sonia was once powerful because she had strong loyalists. Unfortunately, all those loyals are not loyal anymore. Sonia is now a burden for Congress. At least she should elevate Rahul and let him build a coterie. Just like Jagan did for YCP. None of the YSR's close aides are loyalists for Jagan instead he built his own team of loyalists and advisors. Even KVP was put at bay, who enjoyed ultimate status during YSR time.
