Lite , Kashmir is too much of a strategic point to give up. Can't expect china to give up Tiber and xinjang ? 

Same way Crimea , donbass , luhansk population were treated even worse by the Ukranian nationalists and the whole world wants them to rejoin Ukraine 

The needle has moved way past referendum , self rule , etc. The best they can expect is certain degree of autonomy , removing military to the borders , etc

so are they atleast gettting the best that they can expect? they only have Indians who fancy themselves as neutral and pragmatic giving them gyaan about how they deserve to be treated thus.

what about the fanatism of indian govt that promised a quick solution to Kashmir 8yrs ago, and have worsened the conditions there. what we have is falthu videos about delusional 'progress' in the valley, which is currently seeing a rise in militancy.
