Why Telugu Movies will be bigger than Bollywood?

I am confining my argument just to desi market and little research why Telugu movies excelled inspite of being limited to a region

there are approximately 10,000 (7000 single screens and 3000 multiplexes)

AP + Tg has 30% of theaters in India. Traditionally Telugu and Tamil films matched production values values of Bollywood because they had access to tickets foot falls as much as Bollywood, Tamil mega budget movies always piggy backed on Telugu audiences. The power of Telugu cinema is unprecedented even with  limited regional appeal. Four states of the south control 60% of theaters in India. Movies of Bahubali stature unlocked a huge potential for Telugu cinema where they can guarantee recovery of the movie budgets through regional collections (ap+tg) and pan India collections are just a cherry on top, it is now evident from Pushpa and RRR where the movies recovered budgets from  Telugu states and rest of the profits earned from India will go into the pockets.

why Bollywood can’t hold a candle? Because it has access to 40% core market but they can’t have a similar penetration into the south market as it evident in last few decades, they have access to urban markets but rural mass is where the actual magic happens in the south.

we will more pan india block busters from Telugu cinema than any other movie industry in India.

No that is not the point I am making, Kerela cinema makes more matured/nanunced and regional content than us but they can’t grow beyond certain limit because their market is small and as a result the budgets are confined. Telugu cinema standards were always top notch as we have had 40-50 crore budgeted movies with lady oriented films.

with more budgets we become more appealing to more audiences as we can match Bollywood production values

They have great story tellers but their limited maket will never have a producer dare to produce a movie like Bahubali production.

by accident it had happened with Bahubali 1 and it paved a way for a whole lot of Telugu movie makers to dream big and now the future is here
