Bhayyas,

stuck between these two places. could someone shed some light on between these 2 cities? My budget is under 500K

So far, naa reasearch batti, Houston got a higher edge to Charlotte  in the following areas.

Houston:

Location (new construction with Master plan communities) ,

Pros: new homes, good schools,no state tax

cons: 3% property tax,

Warm weather, (con: frequest hurricanes, lot of annoying bugs)

Pro :no state tax,

Pro :Job opportunities  ( not sure how it is for IT people.)BTW, I am not into Oil n gas industry,

Charlotte:

Location

Pros:  good schools is some areas and homes are very expensive(over my budget), under 1% property tax

cons:  state tax

Warm weather, (con: Allergies , lot of annoying bugs, cold winters)

Job opportunities  : mostly in the financial sector ( not sure how  it is for IT people.)BTW, I am not into Finance.

your opinion is really appreciated.

Charlotte budget limit entha pettukunnav bro … if under $500k aeithe concord lo few new communities coming in early 2023 walkable distance to elementary school … school rating 8-10
Harrisburg and Mathews are good too. Waxhaw growing too, ballantyne is filled with batta potta uncles … another option is try Indian land/fort mill sc

Though NC has state income tax you will save in property tax and little bit on sales tax.

Weather is moderate, very cold only for max 1-2 months and snows only 1-2 times a year, overall sun will always shine.

I am biased towards charlotte

I am not sure of billing rates as I work remote to employer in west coast.

This community is just beside elementary school and middle school is within 1 mile. Join in the VIP list if you are interested.
