Both are good choices.

Charlotte - moderate weather, you will see all kind of weather but not too much of anything

property taxes are about 1%

huston - Close to india weather

tax less state but you pay that in property taxes

I lived in both cities .. Charlotte lo unte lot of cities are in driveable range .. like DC Atlanta Florida Smokies etc .. long weekends ki eto katu drive elipovachu .. weather wise you see all 4 seasons ...

Houston lo austin san and dallas are driveable and corpus christi .. but not much to see there ...

Schools antava i think mana desis ekuva ekada unte akkada bane untayi rendu chotla ...

Coming to master planned communities .. yes houston lo unnattu inka ekkada undavemo US lo we have 10K acre communities here in houston .. very well planned with most if not all amenities ..  charlotte lanti place lo kastam alantivi undavu.. houston is a very very big metro .. charlotte houston lo 1/4 kuda undademo

Inka emanna gurthosthe cheptha

Okasari rendu places ki velli oka weekend spend chesi decide avvu ...

Coming to job market manager roles antunnav kabatii .. doesnt matter kada which industry it is as long as IT aithe chalu kabatti Houston lo baane untayi oportunities .. if not austin is like 2hr30mins away anthe

Bhayyas,

stuck between these two places. could someone shed some light on between these 2 cities? My budget is under 500K

So far, naa reasearch batti, Houston got a higher edge to Charlotte  in the following areas.

Houston:

Location (new construction with Master plan communities) ,

Pros: new homes, good schools,no state tax

cons: 3% property tax,

Warm weather, (con: frequest hurricanes, lot of annoying bugs)

Pro :no state tax,

Pro :Job opportunities  ( not sure how it is for IT people.)BTW, I am not into Oil n gas industry,

Charlotte:

Location

Pros:  good schools is some areas and homes are very expensive(over my budget), under 1% property tax

cons:  state tax

Warm weather, (con: Allergies , lot of annoying bugs, cold winters)

Job opportunities  : mostly in the financial sector ( not sure how  it is for IT people.)BTW, I am not into Finance.

your opinion is really appreciated.

TIA guys

US lo any city/State lo edo oka weather releated extreme untadi...like too hot or too cold, windy, snow, wild fires, tornadoes and cyclones....everythng is extreme here...so nuvvu ey weather tolerate cheyyagalavo decide chesuko.

I lived in colder places like chicago and other snowy place like Boston n east coast, I thought extreme summer/heat is always better than cold....day time lo anyway we dont go out much, vellina car lone...but evenings lo u will have much better options to go out with kids

Texas ranks second in US on job related stress.

Very bad place to live.

NC is 23rd in job related stress.

Because people over there tend to take more vacations. Much better life overall.

Avoid Texas at any cost.

Go for Texas only if you have your entire circle in Texas and nowhere else.
