As per the law, NRI’s cannot buy agri land however can hold and inherit. 
 

This is tricky…as NRI data is with MEA and registrations are state subject. Information sharing degara loophole and manalanti vallu beneficiaries.

Yeah, that’s always a safe bet. Buy it on your father’s name..then do a gift deed to your children and if you are the only son. If you plan to hold it for too long then this will protect your rights in case if there are any land encroachments or claims.
