Ex-media owner back in KCR fold!

Contractor-turned-media owner C L Rajam, who successfully ran the Telugu newspaper Namaste Telangana before handing it over to Telangana Rashtra Samithi president and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in 2014, is back in the news again.

Rajam, who was also running an English newspaper – Metro India then, wound it up after KCR proposed to launch another English daily Telangana Today.

While taking over Namaste Telangana forcibly from Rajam, KCR had promised him to take care of his interests, including a Rajya Sabha nomination, under Brahmin quota.

But as is his won't, the Telangana chief minister completely ignored Rajam later.  Aggrieved at this, Rajam went to New Delhi and joined the BJP, but could not continue there for long.

He launched another Telugu daily Vijaya Kranti only to attack the TRS government and expose the scams, but could not sustain it for long. Subsequently, he went into a shell and focussed on his contracts and other business activities.

Now, suddenly Rajam appeared alongside of KCR at the inauguration of Yadadri temple on Monday, taking part in the rituals, evoking curiosity in the media.

The next day, Namaste Telangana, the mouth piece of KCR, carried a story stating that Rajam would be entrusted with the responsibility of developing Vemualwada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple on the lines of Yadadri with over Rs 800 crore.

Rajam, who also hails from Karimnagar district, has a lot of affinity towards Vemulawada temple and was also one of the patrons of the temple. If KCR entrusts the task of developing the temple to Rajam, it will be a big boon for him.

There are also reports that KCR might fulfil his promise of giving Rajya Sabha ticket to Rajam in the elections in the next couple of months. If that happens, Rajam will play a big role in the TRS in the coming days!

800 Cr for another temple anamata...5gavml.gif

It's not that bad of investment for long term. Obviously education / health is preferable but creating long term assets ain't so bad

Andhra spent 7000 cr on temporary arrangments for pushkarams , now that's corruption , incompetence and short sighted leadership all rolled into one
