Superstar Krishna’s grandson and Mahesh Babu’s nephew Ashok Galla celebrates his birthday on April 5th. Meanwhile, the actor who debuted with Hero interacted with media. Excerpts from his one-to-one interview.

What do you say about your first film?
The film’s release was a big thing. I have job description to my name with Hero. The only disappointment was the crowd that should be there for Sankranthi was not there. Everyone thought corona impact will be there from March, but it came in January itself. It was one of those bitter sweet moments.

What did Mahesh Babu say about Hero?
He said I’m proud of you. I didn’t remember what he said after that. He used to give few suggestions.

How’s the response for the film on OTT?
OTT release was a second release for us. I got many messages and appreciations on social media. Anyone will feel good, when we get appreciation. It motivates us. Finally, I can say I’m an actor, on my 30th birthday.

What’s your next project?
It will be like real beginning for me to select my next film. I wanted to do different genre films.

Your first film got delayed due to corona, what do you say about it?
I definitely want to do lot more films in a lot faster pace going forward. It’ going to be disappointment, if we take 2 years for every project.

When will you announce your next?
We are planning to announce my next in June. I have listened to 2 to 3 scripts and one among them will be finalized as my next. I wanted to do a script that will have more depth in script and my character. When I was attending acting classes, I personally felt, I’m better at more intensity and settle acting.

Would you work for another film with Sriram Aditya?
I would love to do one more film with Sriram Aditya, if we find a right script. He actually narrated me another script. But I felt it’s not the script for a first timer.

Who’s your inspiration to do films?
Mahesh Babu is an inspiration for me. I grew up watching him and his movies. He entered as a lead actor and became a superstar. He knows what he’s capable of. That confidence will not go anywhere. That’s what kept him as a king from day one.

Tell us about your acting school experience?
I went to boarding school in Singapore when I was in 8th standard. They had acting classes, as part of school. I took it at very high level at 12th. It’s like a western drama etc.

Did you involve in pub and drugs issue?
I don’t know what exactly is happening about that. I’m still dealing with lower back issue. That day as well, I got my physiotherapy done and slept. After I woke up, I was getting lot of messages. I don’t know why my name was surfaced in the issue.

What did Krishna garu say about your film Hero?
Thatayya (Krishna) garu had watched the movie once before the film’s release. He enjoyed it thoroughly. He said it’s a Sankranthi movie. That was a huge confidence, he gave to us.

How are you going to celebrate your birthday?
Birthdays don’t excite me. Since it’s my 30th birthday, I may have some celebrations this year.

Which movie would you pick to do, among Mahesh Babu movies?
I would take Murali, if I had to chose from Mahesh Babu’s films. Nobody can write such subjects and many magics happened for it. Mahesh Babu gave next level performance. We don’t get another film like that in future. You will only be able to remake it.

Would you do web content?
I’m completely open to do web-series. I indeed will get creative satisfaction as well.
