Hyderabad has got another feather in its cap. With 3,50,56,635 trees planted by 500 volunteer hours, Hyderabad City is chosen as one of the best ‘Tree Cities of the World’ by the Arbor Day Foundation and FAO-UN (Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations Organisation).

Hyderabad bagged this pride for the second consecutive year. It is selected as one of the “Tree Cities of the World” in the year 2021 as well. However, in 2021, Hyderabad is the only city in India to have been selected for this recognition by its commitment to growing and maintaining urban forestry.

But this year, Mumbai also got placed in the list and it received recognition for its dedication to growing and maintaining the urban trees.

Leading the way in urban and community forestry, Mumbai and Hyderabad from India are placed alongside 136 other cities from twenty-one countries. Countries featuring the maximum number of cities were the United States with 37 cities followed by the United Kingdom with 18 cities and then Canada with 18 cities, respectively. All these countries bagged this pride because of their dedication to maintaining greenery in building resilient, healthy and happy cities.

This was the best thing done by Telangana Govt

Trees in many urban forestry sites, road side trees and beautiful landscaping in the middle of the roads ...just amazing
