Look for CBP border check posts on google maps… if you have no stamping, don’t go.. you can go to north padre instead of south padre… especially on weekends it takes long times to verify your identity… CBP has jurisdiction of about 200 miles from the border.. they can setup temporary check posts too…

Go to North Padre… Port Aransas and Mustang Island… May not be as beautiful as south padre, but it is good too..
