Depression as a disease is difficult to overcome, did you know that? You can overcome apathy and sadness, but depression needs to be treated carefully. Don't hesitate to contact the specialists. Perhaps your condition is a deterioration of your biochemical background. Then the vacation advice is good, but you'll need pills in addition to the vacation. Of course, you should never forget about emotional health, but pay equal attention to your physical condition as well. It'll be difficult to understand your recovery plan until you clearly define the problem.

Had a period of depression a couple of years back...was on antidepressants..for a while and slowly stopped..eppudu malli start..all started with me starting to interview for jobs...edo podicheddamani..cracked almost all .kaani join avvalante edo oka rakamaina bhayam..too insecure..chaala negative ga alochistha...left all..may be I am searching for reasons to leave them...emi lenappudu I start feeling I am wasting time at my current job..anni vadilesi India ki velli village lo vundali anipistondhi sometimes..may be this is all life has to offer.. personal life lo haven't been a good father and don't spend much time with my kid..wife is understanding kabatti ok lekapothe she surely would have left me..feel like cannot come out if this without medical help again..

Thinking less of ourselves is first issue. And thinking others are superheroes is the second major issue. Combining them will make us insecure and push towards depression.

Come out of this rat race to compare to anyone. If you are living happily with what you are doing and what you are making be satisfied. Practice Stoicism. Be a stoic. Or read more philosophy that helps on how to be satisfied in life.

Our prev generation did teachers job or a bank employee job for a whole life time. They never expected adrenaline rush in jobs. They live life, take care of things at home and go to the job when ever they find time.

Do not get fooled by the movies which talks about being on the edge, achieving greatness and equate that to enjoying life.

It has to be a daily exercise to monitor your thoughts, and identify the triggers. When you feel that the triggering thought has started, get it out of your mind. You should stop that before it grows spiralling web of thoughts. Then it takes weeks to come out of that episode. But if you can watch your thoughts and talk to yourself immediately when it triggers, and come out of it, it helps. Its difficult but with practice you get it.

when you detect the trigger, go for a long drive, or go for a run, or a HIT class in gym. And snap out of it quickly.

A lot of poor people die by suicides.. we dont know how many of them are triggered by depression. Just because they are poor to get proper diagnosis, they are uneducated to even think that this has to be diagonised, does not mean poor do not have the disease.

only when one accepts that its a real disease, treament is possible. If we as a society, view it as lazyness or sadness and do not acknowledge, or even pass judgement, it cant be treated.

some one who is handicapped cannot walk properly. If someone's heart does not work, he cannot live normally. Depression is real where someone's brain have problem in secreting or absorbing happy hormones like serotonin and dopamine. Its not imaginary.

Acceptance and understanding are so important when it comes to effectively treating depression. If society continues to see it as laziness or simply being sad, it only hinders progress. We really need to recognize that depression is a real illness, just like any physical condition. It's not something that can be brushed off or cured by "cheering up." It's caused by a problem in the brain's ability to produce or absorb happy hormones like serotonin and dopamine. It's a legitimate medical condition. By the way, I'm new here on the forum, but I came across a resource on depression called "anhedonia." You might want to check out https://fherehab.com/learning/anhedonia-what-is-it/ for more information. It's not the main focus, but it could provide some valuable insights.
