TDP men behind rapes, exam paper leaks: Jagan

YSR Congress party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, who has of late changed his gear and has been attacking the Telugu Desam Party and its supporting media, made sensational comments against them on Thursday.

Addressing a meeting at Tirupati after releasing money under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme, the chief minister alleged that the TDP leaders were behind a series of gang rapes and other rape-and-murder cases in the state.

“The accused involved in the rapes and murders in the recent past at Vijayawada, Guntur and Visakhapatnam had links with the TDP. The incidents had happened in a systematic way to tarnish the image of my government unable to bear the good name I have been getting from the womenfolk in the state,” he said.

Stating that his government was taking major steps in the empowerment of women and their welfare, Jagan said his government had brought in Disha mobile application to provide security to women.

“Despite taking all such steps, such incidents are happening only to malign my government. We shall not leave those people who have been resorting to such incidents and launching a negative campaign against our government,” he said.

Reiterating his allegation that the TDP and its pro-media as gang of four, the chief minister went on to call them wily foxes and dacoits.

“They can’t digest the good work being done by the government; and instead, are misleading the people with their Goebel’s campaign,” he alleged.

Jagan also alleged that it was the TDP supporters who had taken the pictures of Class X question papers and circulated them in the social media.

“You know better and you know the truth. In all the instances of exam paper leak, the colleges involved were Narayana and Chaitanya group of institutions, owned by TDP supporters,” he said.

The chief minister further alleged that the TDP leaders had destroyed temples, damaged idols and burnt temple chariots.

“We have reconstructed the temples, installed new idols and built new chariots,” he said.

“The TDP government in the past had ruined the agriculture and we have restored it. It had damaged the education sector and rural economy and we have rebuilt them. We have brought the good governance to the doorstep of the common man,” he said.

Jagan asked the people to compare what women, poor and students had got during the TDP regime with what they are getting now.
