Railways awards tender for supply of 39,000 train wheels to China company

Indian Railways  has reportedly awarded a contract for the supply of 39,000 Vande Bharat train wheels worth Rs 170 crore to a Chinese company as deliveries from other countries got negatively affected due to the war in Ukraine conflict.

Citing anonymous sources, ET reported that the order for solid forged wheels (rough turned) was given to TZ (Taizhong) Hong Kong International Ltd.

cannot say biscuit, due to war and restrictions on freight movement they were unable to deliver on time fully

I read some where that some of the wheels which were ready, were shipped out to another country and from there to India, with uncertainity on remaining wheels.

when you have supplier who can send it quickly for half the price, you dont fack around mixing the govt policies against the urgencies of railways, this is why every policy of congress failed
