I had only known about him after he passed away. Really such a shame to lose him so early.

 

I was surprised to see how popular he was in Pakistani Punjab and how many Pakistani Punjabi's were offering condolences.

 

It reminded me of how similar language, food and culture can bind people.  If you think about it an Indian Punjabi guy will have more in common with a Pakistani Punjabi than a Keralite or an Andhra guy - only because of their shared mother tongue, cuisine and food. I actually saw this in New Zealand where I lived for a few years. The Indian Punjabi and Pakistan Punjabi contractors used to mingle really well.

Anyway RIP Sidhu.
