Yes look like that’s more like a possibility

one thing that stuck my mind this wouldn’t have had happened without the knowledge of sharad pawar because they own home ministry and police department and you know how it works

NCP and Congress together have 100+ MLA's and not a single MLA planned to defect. Its only SS which is heading MVA, lost 42 MLA's out of 55 MLA's. Just above 2/3rds to avoid anti defection and play the game.

There was hectic activity in Delhi, Sharad Pawar was proposed as President candidate and then he refuses, and then a day later the hungama shifts to Mumbai, SS MLA's rebel and MVA is now in minority and has no signs of continuing in the govt, yet NCP and Congress's MLA's are intact and not a single defection. 

Pawar, like every other time took control of the situation to his favor and threw SS under the bus.
