Don't want to name the caste affiliation of a certain acquaintance but the apartment where I lived in Hyderabad - there was a guy who told me that - "Maa thatha inti mudu evaraina ST or SC's/ Mala/Madigalu nadusthey cheppulu theesukuni chethilo pettukuni nadavali" - nenu adigaanu ala cheyyakapoothey enti antey - athani response is "Valla gudaaralu lechipothayi". Imagine someone still is holding on to that kind of pride and ideology. And because of some backward elements within these castes - the entire caste itself gets unfairly tarred with a broad chauvinist brush. In the case mentioned in the thread - in the interest of fairness, law and order and last but not the least justice - the perpetrators should receive the sternest possible punishment under the law of the land.
