Mostly Boston and work remote

Daily NJ transit train ekki NY penn station lo dhigutharuuu. then local train to reach respective Manhattan place

My manager used to come from New Brunswick, NJ. It was two hour commute on NJ Transit to penn and back to downtown manhattan anta but because of kids schools akkada unde vadu. I was single and used to live in Journal Square, Jersey City. Hyd pata basti kanna worst ga untundi.

if it is NYC work then people mostly stays in where public commute covers from other places like NJ, Connecticut, Long island, eastern PA

 

some stay in NJ transit north east coridor belt which covers rahaway, edison, Brunswick, Princeton..etc

some stay in bridgewater, morristown..etc which has some direct trains..

chestor, summit..etc are pretty high profile expensive places with good schools and good train facility to NYC

journal square jersey city is good commute but bad for families

Secaucus is good option to stay if you want to close by NYC 

some stay in Connecticut and do daily commute to grand central

some do daily commute from long island

 

before covid i saw some scenarios like some high end position people stay some where in PA and do commute using amtrack also

Desis ithe Edison and Princeton. Horrible in my opinion as journey will eat 4hrs on a good day. West newyork is best from my experience. Excellent bus connectivity, skyline views, bustling town. Hispanic community ekkuva, felt safe when staying there. Only problem is need to travel some distance for desi groceries. 
Secaucus is a decent option but lot less housing or apartments available.

Yeah, not worth for me. Mostly for desi community and houses undavu near to city. You need to stay in apartment.

NYC is financial hub

much older than silicon valley and provides more jobs in wide variety of areas

before covid people used to go NYC for 4 days per week 

after covid hardly 2 or 3 days, so not an issue i guess

there are multiple commute options are there like there are direct bus facility from Princeton and Brunswick..etc. all you had to do is catch the bus and sleep until you reach your office

compare to SFO there is no housing problem, you can stay in NJ, Connecticut, queens or long island  depends on your choice
