Working since 5 years.

US lo both freight and passenger trains ki primary parts supplier.

Job with pension benefits.

1 month back got a notice that job is outsourced, thaanokkade kaadu entire team of some 150 FT employees lepesaaru.

Asked them to give KT to TCS workers who are going to replace them.

Team is 50% desi, 50% locals, all the locals extremely pissed about giving KT to those who are going to replace them as they are going to lose out their pensions. Some have worked for close to 20 years, pensions fully vest after 20 years so they are left out and hung to dry last second.

All happened after their VP of technology recently resigned and was replaced by a Mumbai born and brought up desi.

2 months of severance pay and that's it.

20 years ki vest avadam Enti pension? Usually 5 to 7 years untadi

So pension vesting ante there are work places where you won't get 100% pension benefits until you put in 20 years(usually), but yes they would be eligible for some pension which they would get after they put in a certain number of years.

For example let's say your company says you would have 50% of pension benefits after you complete 10 years and 100% after you complete 20 and let's say you were let go after you complete 19 years of service. You effectively lost 50% of your pension benefits by missing that 1 year.

And also btw is pension a really good benefit these days?

Good for some, usually those that plan to stay in one place and work and retire there. Family roots ala unnollaki it's a very good benefit. Most of desis don't care since we don't really have our roots here but locals ki chaaala attractive option idi since they can stay close to their family and friends that they grew up with.
