It is what it is. Some people don't like either of the two heroes or some people don't like the director or there could be whatever reason. What matters the most is that an Indian film went viral and got a very good feedback in the American circles trending in top 3 of Netflix and first place in the non English category which is a cultural victory for all Indians as it increases soft power and they can emphatize with us better than just looking at Indians as some IT guys to outsource to or running call / scam centers. 

I hope more movies go viral there in the future and not the typical tollywood masala ones but rather movies like Drushyam which is very underrated. I also hope this doesn't cause heroes to take even more crazy remunerations in the future which makes it harder for smaller but skilled directors to link up with them.

I think it's better to promote it as an Indian movie than tollywood which is not something outsiders know anyway. It's not like they care if we are from a Telugu state or not. Almost all Indians are stereotyped similarly based on what my family living abroad tells me. Some defamation is happening because of the current political climate with the govt vs movie industry drama or hardcore Jr NTR fans not liking that RC was more elevated and that's very counter productive but fortunately it shouldn't matter because those are almost all internal to our Telugu groups and forums.

RGV said film industry is full of jealous people... And all fans are jealous . 

Add all these to haters:

1. Prabhas , PK, MB, baliah  fans - all of them , as they want all other heroes movies to flop.

2. People like raven_raeyes and like minded people

3. Hard core Tamil, Kannada and malayalam and north fans who can't digest other industry

4. Some NTR fans as they thought RC got better role 

5. Some RC fans as they thought NTR dominated him interms of acting

You are completely missing the point... It's not about if there is story, screenplay etc...

West liked the movie as is - over the top , action movie which is just made to entertain for 3 hours....

 No one said it's a great movie, superb direction, wonderful story etc... They are just comparing with other block buster action movies made for 3 to 10 times the cost and hardly entertain for 1.5 hours... Our of that there are only 2 or 3 "hair raising" action episodes...

- they don't have 2 great hero introductions

- they don't have a foot tapping musical with one of the best choreographed songs 

- one of the best action episodes with animals - the world western movies are created in are single tone -set in one genre and that's it.  here it's completely different experience with animals , patriotism, friendship in 1920s British India... 

- every 10 minutes there is something interesting happening which moves the story forward - whatever wafer thin story it is 

- there is enough happening in every scene... For is British episodes are just okay, for western people they are watching a complete diff world

- most importantly, most of the movie you can understand without understanding dialogue... Trust me, I watched 2 times :

1 with American - there are subtitles but he was saying he didn't need to read all the time 

2nd time with Punjabi- for Telugu Dolby print, there are no subtitles... He came thinking it's Hindi version. He was about to leave but he didn't.  He asked me fill him in and asked if I dont mind asking in between. I said hi ahead and as I already watched once.

HE didn't ask me single thing and said I don't need to... I understand what's going... Agree with what SSR said, it's visual movie, just like american action movies story and dialogue doesn't matter much

Story was worst and got neerasam in second half. Could not connect to patriotism , easy predictable and not many goosebumps scenes. Felt SSR should have done folklore/mythology type movies super level lo elevate chestadu  alanti scripts but in RRR felt extremely boring.
