Group of thieves steal $7000 from Charlotte area Lowe's

Four suspected thieves are being sought in North Carolina after they took more than $7,000 worth of copper wire from a Lowe's home improvement store within minutes of arriving, according to media reports.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office said a male and three females walked into the Charlotte-area store on June 28 and split into two groups as they made their way to the electrical aisle.

They put the stolen wire into two shopping carts and left the store through the self-checkout area, the report said.

Lincoln, NC – The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a theft from a Lowes’s Hardware store in Denver of more than $7,000 worth of copper wire. 

Deputies responded to the Lowes Hardware store on Tuesday, June 28th  after receiving a call stating that four people walked into the store, split into groups of two, and went directly to the electrical aisle. 

Deputies say the four suspects loaded the wire into two shopping carts and walked out of the store through the self-checkout area.

Once in the parking lot the suspects loaded the stolen wire into a red Nissan Versa and a black SUV and left the store, according to a news release. 

A loss prevention officer for Lowes told a detective he recognized some of the group members as being involved in thefts at other Lowes in the area.

Once I talked to a Lowes manager and she said that they lose thousands of dollars every week due to theft… they try to put the expensive items high up on the shelves or lock them up so that people will have to ask the store employees… they cannot do much like tackling them or stopping them if they take the stuff out without paying as they can sue back the store for hurting them.. or the employees can get hurt or even killed..

That's in every store... Walmart used to have security who can stop before they leave , not sure if they still do.

They can only report to police...

What people don't know is employee theft is 100 times that of external theft, so they stopped caring about thieves for most part.

 

Shift Managers, stockists have all kinds of access to steal thousands without getting caught ever.
