Making that first impression- First day of Foxconn ceo landing in India, team Telangana showed up in Delhi before anyone realized, this is a prospective $20 billion investment in semiconductors between vedanta and foxconn

and then in London to pursue this blockbuster deal with Vedenta chairman Anil Agarwal

these days all govts are projecting their corporate outreach with zero shame. even DMK started to do this elaborately.

are we supposed to take pride in the fact that our govt lobbied with a company.. I don't understand.

i thought govts existed for a different reason, and not for doing broker panulu.

its like a race to the bottom. each state ministers sounding dumber than the next.

with highly educated people rooting for their team.

may be its on the hope that our gen are useless fcuks who can't create a world class company in their state, and hope that may be in the future someone else in the region will, with the help of this 'clusters' that our govts are maneuvering to create.

rey yedhava... the semiconductor fab that is in discussion is legacy tech 250nm - 40nm i think.

there are market reasons for semiconductor forays not being a success in India. main reason is that the entire market for engineering electronic products is in Taiwan and to an extent china. It makes no sense to manufacture chips here and send them to taiwan, when taiwan already has the worlds largest chip making faciliity.

eventually India will have a fab, but to speed it up first India needs a monstrous electronics engineering infrastructure. big design companies like Quanta, Wistron. Not body shops relying on cheap labour. Govt can try to disrupt this supply chain with targeted investments into electronics manufacturing instead of running behind big names that are trying to take advantage of the $60bn fund/tax benefit Indian govt has provided for semiconductor manufacturing.

Jagan said he's different from Sandrabob and showing it with his acts. TRS is doing exactly what sandrabob is doing. running behind companies and promoting itself doing it. deeni kosam TG enduku? kalisi untey inka ekkuva companies vachhevi ga.
