Tamizh people love their literature and history, Telugu people don't care about it

For example, Cholas heavily promoted Tamizh literature and culture and that's shown obviously in the trailer quite well. Tamizh people are always proud of their literature and culture, and are smart at promoting it by making it into a multi part movie made by some of their best directors, music directors etc. 

Why could we never do such a thing with Telugu literature and kings/kingdoms that patronized Telugu literature? Do we not care, or are we actually ashamed of our history?

ask @dasari4kntr who has many telugu books in his collection..

there must be lot of historical fiction in telugu that could be made into a movie. Since most of film writing in both Telugu/Tamil is extremely mediocre, it makes sense to go this route to pick a novel with well developed characters and a reasonably interesting plot.

otherwise we get half baked comic movies like baahubali, where cartoonish villians fight the unselfish and perfect hero. where the entire kingdom setting still remains a mystery. Is that kingdom in a desert surrounded by valleys and waterfalls. I simply cannot even imagine the basic setting of where the story takes place. that's how confusing that writing was.

a good story will always have competing interests between the characters and not clearly defined good and evil.

Tamil or Telugu people.. everybody loves their literature and history if it is presented to them.

Ponniyin Selvan is actually a pulpy novel, and wouldn't be considered literature. you can compare it with Dan Brown's novels. Full of historical snippets used in the most convenient way to move the story forward.

wrong. its extremely complex subject, and much of the blame should lie on those who created the conditions for the militancy - the sinhalese buddhists and the srilankan govt. Not Tamils who simply responded to their actions.

if you wanna blame prabhakaran for the mess after 2007, he was not the sole fighter for the Tamil cause in SL, even when he was running a separate nation, there were dozen other militant groups, and political parties that were looking at other ways to fight.
