karuvu kalam start aeina aa dams peddha pekedhi em ledu … the design is like that … pumps only work if downstream barrage is full to brim as the pumps are located on backwaters, not at barrage.

Last 3 years is an exception, never in my life I have seen this good rains, 2010 was last year when Hyderabad twin reservoirs got filled, now it happened for 3 consequetive years. It is a big wonder.historically we had good monsoons once or twice in every 5 to 10 years

Kaleshwaram design is ingenious, all the reservoirs are inter linked and can draw water from any point and also half the project can fill by itself in a good monsoon with out any electricity. Mid manair is the heart of distribution network, from there we need only power to pump to mallanna sagar which is the highest point at 680 meters, it is like a suntex drum on an apartment building, like turning the tap on, the  reservoirs in Hyderabad/samirpet, baswapur/Yadadri, kondapochamma, anatagiri reservoirs, nizam sagar etc can filled through gravity.

good monsoon would also fill up all reservoirs in Godavari basin as well without powet expense

Looks like this year is going to have good rains too

Already tungabhadra dam full , almatty opened 18 gates .  Maharastra projects are also in full swing 

Srisailam might fill up in July itself
