Lets start with negatives - caste tag. Yes thats wrong and i want that to go away but now with ysrcp and trs its proved beyong doubt not only every party is the same they are often worse.

Postives - any 5-7 year rule of TDP bought revolutionary changes and profoundly changed the aspirations of people.

83-89 - NTR started real welfare programs with Rs2 kilo. National level front politics continuing still now. Introduction of EAMCET which made andhra  a powerhouse in education.  abolishment of patel-patwari and munsif (by the way my own grandfather was a munsif).

94-04 - Revolutionary change in middle class lives with hi-tech city. computerization bought tangible benefits in reducing corruption. first time four lane roads in entire coast. rythu bazars - i still remeber farmers chatting with each other in bora banda "times have changed now". Modernization of gandhi  hospital. Later other continued but the way they wer bouught was revolutionalry

14-19 - Excitement of amaravati. Immediate water delivery through pattiseema.

Compare this with jagga and feudal parties - balancing of caste equations, targetted money distributions which will stop when either funding goes away or political benefits go away.

With TDP there is some excitement, some questioning of status quo, some dramatic changes.

It’s a national policy…KCET, TNCET,EAMCET and few other states introduced at a similar time. It was a central policy which asked states do conduct a common entrance tests for professional studies so that the caste reservations will be implemented uniformly and scholarships misuse will subside.

whenever a system changes there will be some disruptions, But overall changing the heriditary patel-pawtari in TG, munsif-karanam in kostha was a revolutionary change. A change has to be revolutionary to make meaning.

Intention might be good, but when system changes, there has to be an alternate system in place.

Dharani kuda atlantide but previous revenue system was not abandoned overnight. Records were secured and only then switch over happened. The same thing happened when CARD was introduced for registrations.

But for patel-patwari, nothing as such was in place. It’s a massive failure. An entire generation didn’t even knew they lost their lands and people knew are still going around courts because there are no RECORDS.
