The awards for 2020 are being announced one after the other today in Hindi. The awards are given in five categories for the year 2020. As expected, Suriya has won the best actor award for Soorarai Potru and Aparna Balamurali has won the best actress for the same film. Suriya shares his award with Ajay Devgan for his spectacular portrayal in the hit film Tanhaji. The same film also won the best film to provide wholesome entertainment. In big news, the Suhas starrer, Color Photo has won the best film award in Telugu. SS Thaman has won the best music director award for the film Ala Vaikunthapuramlo. In other awards, the most friendly state has gone to Madhya Pradesh. The best choreographer goes to Sandhya Raju for the Telugu film Natyam. The best production design has gone to Malayalam film Kappela. The best screenplay award goes to the Tamil film Soorarai Potru and the best dialogues go to the Tamil film Mandela. The best supporting actor has gone to Biju Menon for the film Ayyapanum Koshiyum. On the other hand, Shalini Usha Nair has won the best screenplay award for Soorarai Potru. The prestigious awards are regulated by the Government of India’s Directorate of Film Festivals. This year, the films released in 2020 were also recognised due to the delay caused by the Covid-19 pandemic. After the pandemic, the awards were presented in a physical ceremony. Earlier today, a 10-member jury led by director Vipul Shah met Information and Broadcasting minister Anurag Thakur and submitted the report on the 68th National Film Awards. The jury members also include cinematographer Dharam Gulati, National Award-winning Bengali actor Sreelekha Mukherjee, cinematographer GS Bhaskar, A Karthikraaja, VN Aditya, Viji Thampi, Sanjeev Rattan, S Thangadurai and Nishigandha.
