yeah Karthika Deepam is a masterpiece compared to Shatamanam Bhavati. But both are daily soaps. and probably have a bigger viewer base every week than any movie. So they are the best.

daily soaps like Karthika Deepam work because of family drama. if people connect to drama, they work. there is not much marketing involved. the viewer base is volatile and they won't have much user retention if they make another serial. if huge user base is a metric for success, then Shanmukh would've been a superstar already. in reality, people who watch free stuff like TV serials, youtube content, or piracy content rarely spend money on content.

on contrary, SSR can make people spend a lot of money on his films. it's a fact even if you hate to admit it.

why would I have a problem admitting that ssr can make people spend money on his trash films. Its an undeniable fact that he can.

I only take offense to the claim that he's a great director, when he literally makes fcuking boring movies with cardboard characters that have no real personality outside of machoism, and other regular nationalist, casteist, religious tropes. There's literally nothing novel in his movies. In any of those arts that contribute towards making a film.

to call such a 3rd rate filimmaker a great director is insulting to the intelligence of the audience. They watch his movies for fun. and that's it.

that's the point. Rajamouli is the Shanmukh of movie world. literally the only metric for his greatness seems to be the money his films make.

just like commoditized product makes more money in the market than custom made ones. Rajamouli is a someone who churns commoditized bs and should be praised for that. for his process and consistency in churning out pop sh1t.

Not for his 'art'. Until RRR, Rajamouli films were not even beautiful to look at. and he claims he spend 300cr, 400cr and such for his movies. His costumes leave a lot to be desired. writing so melodramatic, like a fcuking daily soap.

I hope someone in Telugu makes a cool mass flick and upstages this bore.

Sujatha Garu povadam tho Shankar movies flat ayyipoyhunnayi content wise. Basically Shankar lost key piece in his team.
