Cheppalemu bhayya. Totally depends on project. Working from other countries is not allowed for a reason. When someone breaks that, there is every reason to proceed legally. Will client take the headache to proceed legally is different Q.

It’s not that they don’t allow you to work from India - it is because India is a banned country blacklisted by IP range (among the list of other blacklisted countries). Prolly due to India joining the ranks of Nigeria due to scammer calls and no laws to prosecute these scumbags and for the safety of American citizens from getting scammed/victimized. Govt, healthcare, etc have these regulations/restrictions.

Everything you install on your client laptop - they will know it remotely without even touching it. even if you somehow manage to make VPN work, how are you going to explain the loud traffic noises, honking from the streets that is heard right inside your house 24/7?? You cannot simulate the quiet US environment in India for all the time. Period.

Just don’t do anything out of greed that is not allowed and expect not to be caught or prosecuted.

expressvpn or nordvpn might work in your case.  You can change geo location.  If you pay little extra, then u get your own static IP.

My health insurance client did not have this in place (people used to visit India and were able to work remotely) until a few years ago and suddenly announced whoever is going to visit India on vacation will not be allowed to work remotely until they return to US. I asked the network folks and they said they blacklisted India by IP range.

Many people are WFH remotely right now even in US. If India is not blacklisted, why do you think companies are not allowing people to work from India remotely?

They don’t outsource anything. Why do they need India? They don’t even know where India is located on the world map haha
