Going to India - transit through UK - anyone here who has done this recently?

I have GC and I travelled through LHR without any hassles. On the way to india , my layover was around 6 hours. They didn’t ask for any transit visa. While returning back, my layover was 36 hours, so they issued transit visa for one day in the airport and allowed me to exit the airport. I happily spent one day in London and returned to USA. If you are USA citizen, you are all set. Don’t worry

+100.

Some how they feel they are superior and treat all passengers as if they don't belong in UK...

You can just feel how the police treats you while going though security....
