Me and my wife had a small fight and I said her food is horrible 

she got hurt and went to the bedroom crying 

my 8 yr old kid came to me and said 

daddy , what you did is wrong , you can say the dish could better but what you said is very bad and it is 20 times worse then saying it is bad 

you hurt her feeling and emotions  , now go and say  to her 

When my kid started saying that I was like melted but , didn’t say  

so she wrote a  letter to my wife and took my signature and put it in an envelope gave it to my wife. 
 

I was so impressed with how she turned a bad situation into good one 

 

When I was growing up , if my mom and dad were fighting we used to go and lock the door and stay in our bedroom

Now a days no one has gutts to say that they didn’t like wife’s food… good that u were able to say that to ur wife! Bad that she didn’t take it in a good way to improve her self..  Nothing wrong in saying.. if u don’t say now next time as well be same taste and it will neva change.

my nephew who grew up in India behaves in exactly the same way. it has nothing to do with india/us.

if her food isn't nice, you do the cooking. instead of whining about food.
