న్యూఢిల్లీ, ఆగస్టు 4: వివిధ రకాల ఇన్‌ఫ్రా ఆస్తుల్ని కొనుగోలు చేస్తున్న అదానీ గ్రూప్‌ తాజాగా రెండు రాష్ర్టాల్లో రోడ్డు ప్రాజెక్టుల్ని చేజిక్కించుకుంటున్నది. మెక్వైరీ ఆసియా ఇన్‌ఫ్రాస్ట్రక్చర్‌ ఫండ్‌కు ఆంధ్రప్రదేశ్‌, గుజరాత్‌ల్లో ఉన్న టోల్‌ రోడ్డు పోర్ట్‌ఫోలియోను రూ. 3,110 కోట్లకు కొనుగోలు చేస్తున్నట్టు గురువారం అదానీ గ్రూప్‌ ప్రకటించింది. ఈ ప్రాజెక్టులు పశ్చిమ, దక్షిణ భారత్‌లో ప్రధానమైన ట్రాఫిక్‌ కారిడార్లని అదానీ వివరించింది.

Looks like privatization has finally taken off.

Roads monetization oka 10 years back ae chesi vunte we would have had better quality roads today and enough funds to build new roads. It could have been lucrative for lenders to lend to road projects.

As far i know these are not new projects. NH16 was built during vajpayee time 

Swarna toll plaza is owned by venkaih naidu's benami for almost 15 years , after which it was sold to a Malaysian firm and later American firm 

So adani acquired tada(sricity) to kavali (Nellore dist border) stretch , which is the only 4 lane route on NH16 and the toll licence is about to expire in 6 years 

Other road is nandigama to vijaywada which is also an existing highway

I think the roads monetization scheme which the central govt has planned, this looks like part of such scheme.

No these tolls are already private owned and adani bought them from other private parties  

Govt has nothing to do with them , atleast for the Andhra ones. Can't comment on Gujarat roads

Toll Plazas alhtough come under NHAI where applicable are being run by Private firms from long time their role is to maintain and collect tolls.
