Pure labor charges alone are going up to 10k for a deck - which is a week project for a SINGLE  guy - ofcourse a skilled single guy.

Now take garage door installation - 2 hour work - you can charge 100-200. 

Recessed lights - people charge $50 per bulb - its easily 15 mins job per light if you are installing 4-6 lights.

Water softerner and whole house filter - labor charges go to $900 in some cases - 1-2 hr job.
