I think this deal happened during COVID times and based on VD, Karan Johar , pan India markets etc ..

OTT palyers already stopped giving outright deals for these hyped movies..

No this happened in May’22

in covid they had a bigger offer to release only on OTT which they declined to get a lower bid in combination with theatrical release as well. It was a calculated risk as half the amount they made through OTT and the remaining half they sold it for theatricals

all major OTT platforms are building up the content or filling up, by 2025 India lo 30 crores mandi some form of OTT use chestaru ani estimate unnadi.

hence all OTT platforms are hungry for content, We couldn’t have imagined OTT platforms paying 27,000 cr for IPl or 30 crs for 1 game(not satellite but just digital rights)
